Electrical Engineer Exposure Risk

If you held a career as an electrical engineer, and were exposed to absestos, you may want to inquire about a mesothelioma lawsuit. Mesothelioma lawsuits often follow long-term asbestos exposure. In the mid 20th century, from 1940 to 1970, asbestos was used as an insulator for electrical wiring because it is fire resistant. If asbestos was at all put into any electrical design, including hot pads, brake pads or hairdryers, an electrical engineer would have been necessary and they could possibly have been exposed to asbestos. Electrical engineers also helped wire homes, commercial buildings and communications systems – all entities that may have utilized harmful asbestos. Prior to knowing the full risks of asbestos, electrical engineers used it because it was lightweight but also strong since it is a derivative of stone. Though it is extracted from stone, it is pliable so its qualities make it ideal for insulation. It is also very easy to work with and, before its risks were well known, its capabilities seemed to perfectly match the needs for building and insulation.
