I have always wanted to watch The Lion King musical but unfortunately, they have left to tour other countries. What Bad News?
Not even bad news can detract from the enjoyment of music – that is what is great about it. When listening to your favourite song someone could drop bad news on you and you may not even notice.

Ugh, It’s So Bad!
This is why I have sworn to never buy a digital piano. The Williams Allegro 88 is pure garbage when compared to an actual acoustic piano.
I have no idea how people can stand to play these contraptions called “digital pianos”. They are nothing more than a wannabe piano. They try to emulate the sound, but the sound is nothing like an acoustic piano. They lack any form of subtleties. They don’t allow the pianist to express any emotion into their music. It’s just bad. They don’t even have that same vibrating feeling that acoustic pianos provide.
Digital pianos lack the pure feeling of acoustic pianos that naturally create the weights on their keys. Williams Allegro 88 have plasitc keys, and they jiggle around! How in the world do people accept such low quality? Real pianists play with real pianos that provide wooden keys that are evenly distributed.
My title expresses my feelings so well about digital pianos, especially the Williams Allegro 88. It’s just so bad.
Classical Music Beethoven Classics at the Proms
The BBC Proms continued to dominate the headlines from the classical music world in the last week as the London Philharmonic Orchestra and Sir Colin Davis got their teeth stuck into Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis. Due to its liturgical austerity and lack of showy tunes, the piece is not as loved as some of the other masses so it was a challenge for conductor, Davis. He attacked it however at this Prom with ambition and scope as he was very much a conductor determined to conquer it, with its echoes of war an inescapably topical urgency.
His vision was clear, although at times some of his players did not always fulfil it. The chorus faced their challenging task with unfailing bravery and energy, while soloist Sarah Connolly was fully in charge of her vocal colours, adding just a hint of warmth to her stern, Germanic delivery. Helena Juntunen, though technically brilliant, was perhaps a little too Italianate to sound wholly authentic but the performance on the whole was a success.

Finding Something to Enjoy
If there’s one thing that I really love, it’s house music. Recently, my wife and I decided that we really need to get out of the house more often. When you’re working full time, it’s often easy to forget that you have other needs. Stressed out by your job, you often think that you can only bum around the house when you’re done for the day. This, of course, is not the case, and it’s certainly not how you should really live your life. My wife and I have been getting out of the house to dance a lot more often, and it’s been taking years and years worth of stress out of our lives. We no longer have to feel trapped at the end of the day, because we’ve picked up hobbies that we can really, really enjoy. If you don’t have something that you can do to relax at the end of the day, then you’re really not living your life.
Going Back to Lesson One
I’ve taken guitar lessons so many years ago with a friend, but he passed away and I never really touched my guitar again. I’m picking it up once again though, because I know Mark would have wanted me to continue playing the guitar. I’m beginning with my tapping technique again. Mark taught me this once but I seem to have forgotten the basics. I hope he’s not mad at me up in heaven. I’ve always loved music, but I only picked up the guitar five years ago. I know I’ll probably never be a master at it, but it’s nice sometimes to have a little hobby that you get into now and again, and a little ability that people don’t know about you. Some people can juggle, some people can sing. Well, hey, I can play a guitar! I’m getting interested in things again and I hope that my interest doesn’t wane soon. I’m looking forward to playing a song for my mom for Mother’s Day!
