One of the industries that has kept on growing despite the general economic turn down is the Family History Research industry. Estimated to be worth billions of dollars, it appears the even when people are hard up and have little spare cash they are still keen to continue with their family history research.
But what is this money actually spent on? Sometimes it can be spent obtaining wills and other records from churches or national governments all over the world. The postage on these alone can be very expensive and if you have a large family tree then the costs start to mount up.
Other people spend money on family history researchers. These are people that under take research on behalf of other people and their families. They do this all day every day so are highly skilled at it and can work very quickly and get very good results. These are not huge amounts but they all cost money!
